Bring joy to your home with your art. Walking into someone’s home is a treat. I enjoy seeing how they display their interests and passions through their décor, and especially items around the house that show who they are. Portraits of their families and friends, paintings they curate, sayings they’ve hung around the kitchen or house – a window to silently tell you things about your friends. My house is full of random, eclectic items that are hung carefully to be in harmony despite their different genres. Jennifer Graham Photography I collect paintings from local Atlanta artists like R. Land. I have 2 of his pieces, Lost Cat and Speckles. My favorite artist is George Rodrigue from Louisiana. I am fortunate to have one of his screen paintings in my den where it is prominently displayed. He created it on September 11, 2001, to immediately raise funds for the victims…

Our Vaccinated tee has landed in our shop! It was born of my family’s excitement at being vaccinated. Visit our shop today and purchase one. If we have enough buyers, we may donate a % to an animal shelter. We’ll set a goal of donation once we see how many buyers we have. Show those around you they can rest with ease that you’re vaccinated, and help promote the efforts. This rhinestone design made from dazzling crystal and lavender rhinestones, on the front of our premium women’s relaxed fit v-neck made by Bella. $28.20 plus tax and shipping
Charleston in the spring is glory to behold. Flowers are blooming, the weather is warm, dining outdoors is heaven at night, and you get to experience the lowcountry at its best. We took a family trip the first weekend in May. It was a mixed bag of good and bad experiences, but wouldn’t trade it for anything. This post contains affiliate links. If you click a link and make a purchase, Poe in Wonderland will earn a small commission for the referral at no cost to you. I first want to say something about customer service. We’ve been visiting Charleston for over 33 years and the majority of those visits have been wonderful, however, the start of this particular trip was a disaster. I never post negative things because that isn’t what this blog is about, but sometimes it’s necessary. I reserved our stay in plenty of time. We arrived…
The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, hid copies of Hold Still: A Portrait of Our Nation in 2020 around London along with the Book Faeries on Friday, May 8th. The Book Fairies are a global organization that hides books all around the world for the joy of discovering them. May is Mental Health Awareness Month and the photo book was born of a project devoted to mental health. We’ve been following the evolution of this project since its beginning. Residents of the UK were invited to submit photos of their experiences with the coronavirus pandemic. The response was fantastic and overwhelming. An excerpt from an Observer.com article is below. “Duchess Kate, an avid photographer herself, first launched the photo project last year. She worked with the National Portrait Gallery (she’s the royal patron) and asked people from all over the U.K. to submit a portrait depicting their lives amid the coronavirus pandemic. The response was huge,…

The month of May celebrates Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders’ heritage. We would really like to feature AAPI artists, writers, and lifestyle bloggers. Please comment below if you have recommendations for people we can contact. We’d like to post about 3-4 individuals. . According to the Census Bureau, Asian and Pacific Islanders makeup about 5% of the American population and are the fastest-growing racial group in the U.S.” SOURCE Girl Scouts River Valleys Photo by vivek kumar on Unsplash Photo by Jason Leung on Unsplash
