We’ve been musing about this topic for a while – how the internet has changed our lives – and thought we’d talk it over. I mean what was life like before the internet? There are several generations of people walking around that have never been without it. Can you imagine? They’ve never had to break out an encyclopedia or use microfiche in a library. Yep, we’re showing our age! So, let’s examine the ways it has influenced us. Photo credit: Andrew Neel on Unsplash Research and NewsRarely do you see people reading an actual newspaper these days. If you watched a popular show in the ’80’s called Cheers, then you have a good idea what a place is like to hang out where people know your name. The Corner Cup coffeehouse in Decatur and Tucker, Georgia is just such a place. Opened in 2016 and 2018 respectively, Rich Lavery and Michael Vorndran wanted somewhere patrons could not only get a great cup of coffee but feel they were part of the community at large. The first thing you notice upon entering their locations is the art displayed on the walls. They…

Atlanta Eats is a premiere television show in Atlanta, Georgia that features restaurants and dining establishments. It’s a fun show to watch to discover joints to fine dining around the city. Steak Shapiro who was a popular radio and tv personality in Atlanta founded the show and serves as its host. Recently, we saw an episode centered around Tucker. Since Tucker is nearby to us, we decided to give one of the featured restaurants a try. We picked Ford’s BBQ on Main Street. Opened in 2020, it’s grown in popularity rather quickly.
