| One of my favorite places to hang out while I work is Alcove Coffeehouse in Lilburn. I’ve been going since they’ve moved locations over the years. First, in Tucker on Idlewood Rd, then on Lavista Rd near the Mellow Mushroom, and now in their current spot on Lake Lucerne. The view is gorgeous from the windows as you work on your laptop, read or chat with friends. |
It’s fairly quiet in the morning to midday. Alcove is independently owned and serves specialty coffee roasted in Atlanta along with their delicious teas. If you’re peckish, they offer pastries, sandwiches, salads, and snacks. I usually order a scone with a chai and perch by the big windows facing the lake. The staff are warm, polite, and they get to the point after a few visits where they know what you like. The overall atmosphere is calm – or at least whenever I’ve been there – and guests will periodically chat with each other which is nice. Try this coffeehouse the next time you crave your favorite beverage made from a bean or a leaf and you’d like to sit by a lake while you drink it.
