Harry Potter fan? There's an awesome exhibition going on now in Atlanta, Austria, and France. My friend Aja and I went to the Atlanta Harry Potter Exhibition yesterday. Located in an ideal venue space on Carnegie Way downtown it's easy enough to get to. The exhibition is in town until the end of February so you have a chance to see it. You get to see movie props – Tom Riddle's diary, resurrection stone, Ravenclaw diadem and more, costumes, learn background details from the film, and there are some interactive pieces too. The official site's description is as follows:
“Harry Potter™: The Exhibition is a groundbreaking touring exhibition that celebrates the iconic moments, characters, settings, and beasts as seen in the Harry Potter™ film series and the Wizarding World. This unique in-depth exhibition delights visitors through powerful storytelling and innovative, interactive technology and features original props and costumes.”
The interactive technology includes picking a wand, potting a mandrake, choosing a patronus, and brewing a potion. You can throw a quaffle through quidditch hoops and pose in the cupboard under the stairs. All of it is fun. We enjoyed looking at all of the costumes and they reminded you of the film scenes in which they appeared. Below are the pictures of our visit.
Costumes for Bellatrix Lastrange and Luna Lovegood. Was thrilled to see Luna's outfit as she is my favorite.
You can pose in Harry's cupboard under the stairs. Felt like a real cupboard or what one imagines it'd be like.
Visit the offices of Dolores Umbridge. You can't tell from the photograph, but that's the eye on the door to her office.
Proclamations from Order of the Phoenix
There's so much more to see than we photographed so you'll have to check it out for yourselves. For Harry Potter fans, it only enhances your love for the series, and for those unfamiliar with the films it gives you an appreciation for them. Buy your tickets here and enjoy the wonders of the Wizarding World. Psst you may want to hurry as the exhibition won't be around forever. Go while you still can.
