https://youtu.be/bmUuxEqI0RU I am over the moon excited to offer Poe in Wonderland t-shirts! It took me over a year and trying different styles and companies to find these shirts. I am working with Hipkraft who’s done an amazing job with the design. They have been an easy company to work with on ideas and offer quality merchandise. I can personally attest that the shirt fit is as advertised, the material is super soft, and the crystals are eye-catching in addition to being wonderfully sewn. If you’re like me, you might enjoy reading spooky stories all year round. If you only like to read them along with horror and supernatural ones during the Halloween season, we’ve found resources for you. Halloween reading is alive and well (yes, we said it). We found a Paste article listing the best 50 horror novels of all time, a fun Halloween book club you can join from a multitude of online places, and an intriguing novel we weren’t familiar with but will be ordering ASAP. If we love nothing at all, we do live for a good fairy tale! Have you lain awake at night wondering what the 50 best horror novels of all time are? No? Well neither have we, however, we were curious since it is October. Paste made a list in 2018 written by Steve Foxe and their staff and it’s pretty comprehensive. Yes, you can…
Fall is our favorite season in this house, and we’re excited about all of the fun things that come with it. Pumpkins and pumpkin bread make the season prettier and more flavorful. We recently found a recipe by Christina who writes A Homebody’s Adventures blog where she features what she enjoys about the comforts of home. Reading, cooking, baking, party planning inspiration, and more. We decided to try baking her pumpkin bread so Tom read to me while I baked. It’s an easy recipe and the ingredients – except for the puree – are probably in your pantry. It takes about 10 minutes to prep it and approximately 1 hour to cook. For us, it took me about 20 minutes to prep since Tom insisted on telling me all about particular parts of a book so I had to keep pausing to listen. Our oven baked it in 50 minutes.…
The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,And sorry I could not travel bothAnd be one traveler, long I stoodAnd looked down one as far as I couldTo where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair,And having perhaps the better claim,Because it was grassy and wanted wear;Though as for that the passing thereHad worn them really about the same, And both that morning equally layIn leaves no step had trodden black.Oh, I kept the first for another day!Yet knowing how way leads on to way,I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sighSomewhere ages and ages hence:Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—I took the one less traveled by,And that has made all the difference. Robert Frost in 1943. Instagram is a huge social media tool today and used for pretty much everything from someone’s vacation shots to a lifestyle blog’s updates. As we scroll through feeds to see what we like, we don’t think about why a page pops up more than others because we just want to see what’s out there to inspire us. Where should we travel, eat, shop, and explore? But, there is a method to the scrolling madness. If you are part of the Instagram world and you’re the one posting, then you also have a strong desire to make your posts count. You put a lot of work into scouting out ideas and the best places and things to showcase so you want…

Cocktails are a major part of any night out or party. Halloween is the perfect time of year to try new ones. I am a vodka girl at heart, but I do love color and style in a good drink. I found 7 Halloween cocktails that are made of ingredients you probably have in your home or they’re easy to pick up whenever you’re out running errands. Most of these are from Delish.com. Parties will be hard to attend this year with the state the world is in, however it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy cocktails with family and friends via a good Zoom session or small-scale event, right? Or simply mix yourself one while you watch your favorite horror film. This post contains affiliate links. Ever been puzzled why the words fall and autumn are exchanged at times during this wondrous season of the year? It’s my favorite with cooler days/nights, firepits, football, pumpkin pies, and comfy clothes. I really live for it. I get regular email newsletters from one of my favorite online magazines: AtlasObscura.com, and they published this piece by Dan Nosowitz again today. He wrote it in November 2017, but of course, nothing’s changed as far as the roots and meanings of these two words. So, let’s read Dan’s own words so the next time this pops up we’ll know! Usage of the word “fall” first appeared in England in the mid-16th century; “autumn” pre-dates it to sometime in the late 14th…
Maxim Kryl found Floki the raven as a baby alone outdoors in cold weather. He took him home and cared for him. Today, despite the fact that Floki can take care of himself, he flies home to his dad every day to speak and snuggle. He also plays fetch and behaves like a dog. I ran across this adorable video in my Facebook feed and it is too good not to share. His dad and he even have their own Instagram page: Flokitheraven https://youtu.be/W6KyKrTp-PY Video Credit: The Dodo You can read more about their story here. Who misses “Stranger Things” the series besides me? It’s hard to wait a year every year until July 4th to see the new season, but more so now since we don’t know when we’ll get the next one. I DO know there’s a strong possibility they may have started filming again in Atlanta, Georgia, which is where they’ve filmed a lot of the show. While we wait we can try a new cocktail inspired by Milly Bobby Brown’s character “Eleven”. I recently found a fantastic Halloween blog created by Miranda called SpookyLittleHalloween.com . This cocktail and post is featured on her blog so I am merely passing it along. As part of my Halloween page’s content, I will be featuring her story the first week of October. Please visit her blog and read her posts about decorating, recipes, party ideas, and more. Stranger Things Cocktail: The Eleven Whether you’re recharging…
