https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-w3q8m7Htc Visit with some furry friends for a bit The kids and I were looking for a place near where we live that wasn’t a long drive to visit animals. Specifically, alpacas. We knew there were places in Georgia where you could see them. After a quick Google search, we found Creekwater Alpaca Farm in Snellville, Georgia. It’s located on a large 20 year old farm and is home to a big herd of alpacas who are sweet and gentle and absolutely love to be fed by hand. Here’s the farm’s description of themselves on their Facebook page: “Creekwater Alpaca Farm is located in Snellville, GA and has been in business for over 20 years. Our farm is filled with Alpacas, a native animal to Peru, that produces some of the softest fiber in the world. They are kind and loving animals. Our farm consists of other animals as well…

the Queen of Creole CuisineThe New Orleans Advocate staff photo by Mark Becherer New Orleans, Louisiana, is one of the most fascinating places I’ve been to. I’m a fairly new visitor since I’ve only been going since 2000. Been on maybe a half dozen trips and mainly done tourist activities. I’ve read about it all my life. She changed her life and the world around her and there are generations who will remember her and what she did. And in such simple, meaningful ways. Her work…

From the minute I saw it, I knew I wanted to stay there one day. Took a good number of years, but I made it in February 2018. We were going to Harry Potter World at Universal Studios and Cabana Bay is an on-site hotel for the parks. The resort was everything I was expecting when I saw its concept and more. It’s huge and sprawling in the best way. The entrance lobby is sky high with windows and through them you can see one of two huge swimming pools – the one with the water slide – as you check in. The check-in counter is long with a good number of staff and it was an easy process. There are…
