The Downton Abbey exhibition in Atlanta is currently showing and will be until the beginning of January 2022. My mom and I recently went on a mother-daughter date and toured the exhibition. We didn't know what to expect. We were joyfully surprised at the authenticity and extent of the show. Downton Abbey for those that don't know is the most successful PBS series ever. It follows the Crawley family in their daily life on a grand estate in England and covers the time from 1912 to 1927. Starts with the sinking of the Titanic and travels through World War I and early modern times. It's an epic drama and many of my friends and family have been enthralled with it for years. I'm going to walk you through the exhibit with pictures, and then my mom's review will be at the end. Don't worry, I'm not giving everything away about the show.

We were impressed with the details of the show including descriptions of the great house and the telegraph the family received about their cousin perishing when the Titanic sank.

It was fascinating to walk through each and every piece. To see more in-depth information about the show's time period in actual history. And, of course, the fashion.

It was thrilling to see the costumes and remember them from the series. The actual sets from the show were featured as well and you felt like you were in the rooms. You can read about what the staff's duties were in real life during that time period too.

Mom and I loved the costumes and all the accessories that went with them. As I mentioned at the start of the post, I'm not giving away all of the exhibition's secrets, although I did want to present my mom's take on the show.

“I went to an exhibition of Downton Abby.  I enjoyed the exhibit because it was a traveling exhibit and everything was authentic.  All the clothing, shoes, and jewelry were on display for upstairs actors and downstairs.  Also, they had original letters from the staff.  They had an outline of the upstairs and downstairs and their descriptions.  They had videos you could watch with the real actors.  The bedroom, kitchen, and dining room were all authentic.   It is well worth a visit if you enjoyed the mini-series.”

All in all it's well worth the price of your ticket.

We paid for the commemorative photograph at the end. You can choose different sets to appear in.
