Atlanta, Georgian
The Georgian Terrace Hotel
One of our favorite places to stay in Georgia. This modern classic hotel was built in 1911, and stands on a famous corner in Atlanta on Peachtree Street. Located across from the Fox Theatre, it's seen a great deal of history in Midtown. A luxury hotel that regularly hosts weddings and important public events where you can stay in a fabulous suite with city views. They even allow for dogs and what luxury hotel does this? We try to stay at least once a year, especially at Christmas with its beautifully decorated lobby.

Read House Hotel
Located at the intersection of Broad Street and Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard it is a luxury hotel styled in a 1920’s modern design. Gorgeous inside and out with detailed décor it often serves as an event destination in addition to welcoming guests. It’s ideally located within walking distance to key sites around downtown. You can walk to the aquarium, children’s museum, restaurants, the Walnut Street Bridge, and the Bluff View Art District. Bluff view has several galleries, inns, river views, and dining establishments.
Staybridge Suites Downtown Convention Center
Spacious suites for families on a budget. We like the fact that it has an indoor pool that stays open late, the on-site store where you can purchase drinks and snacks, and a generous breakfast with waffles to satisfy the kids. We enjoy staying a little further out from the bustle of downtown.
Charleston, South Carolina
Indigo Inn
Beautiful inn right in the heart of Charleston's historical district near Meeting and Market streets. A quick walk to Hyman's Seafood restaurant and Charleston Place. Ideal to stay for walking places and great restaurants.
Richmond, Virginia
The Berkeley Hotel
The Berkeley is located in the Shockoe Slip area in the business district. The boutique hotel seems period, however, it was built in 1988. The original owner was careful to fashion it architecturally after the other historic buildings in the area. Alan M. Voorhees designed it to be in a European style and named it after the Berkeley Castle and Plantation in England. The hotel has a restaurant on-site that offers a variety of dishes and a full bar. The restaurant has dinner, breakfast, and room service.
A benefit of Berkeley’s location is its proximity to restaurants and bars as well as shops and coffee houses along a cobblestone street. There's even an independent bookstore to browse a block down from the hotel. Lots of historical sites to walk or a short distance drive to, including the Poe Museum of Richmond. The Berkeley is an excellent choice for a business or leisure visit to Richmond.
