Christmas lights are one of the most enjoyable sights to see every year. Our family likes getting in the car after dinner and checking out our favorite displays and finding new ones. There are great neighborhood displays around Atlanta that thrill visitors every year and often take donations for non-profits like the Make A Wish foundation. A single-family or multiple ones get together to decorate their yards and share the holiday spirit. Below are some top ones around Atlanta and in surrounding counties. We found even more light displays that we'll feature in another post. Holiday lights are a way to bring joy to your life so we hope you visit these neighborhoods!

Please make sure you check their websites and Facebook pages before venturing out to make sure weather hasn't affected their display hours.

Smoke Rise and Stone Mountain

A Whole Lot of Christmas
For more than 25 years, this family has been decorating their home to the extreme. Different sections of the yard include snowflake lane, Santa’s workshop, a working ferris wheel, a Disney section, cut-outs for pictures and more. In 2012, they began collecting donations for Make-a-Wish Georgia and continue this tradition.
When: Through Dec. 31. Nightly 6-10 p.m.
Where: 1833 Smokerise Summit, Stone Mountain

Our favorite one every year is A Whole Lot of Christmas. The boys have sat in Santa's sleigh for their photo op each December.

The Smoke Rise neighborhood has two very nice ones this year in Mountain Creek and Stratmor Drive.

2253 Stratmor Drive

We actually saw 2 deer grazing in a yard on the way to the Mountain Creek display. They looked like yarn decorations. We spotted one on the way to the display, and an additional one with the first one when we drove out of the neighborhood. Exciting to see.

1855 Mountain Creek Drive
There were decorations that looked as if they'd been cut out of board and we're decorated by hand which made them even more special.

Tucker

Found 4 home owners in Tucker who really like to light it up for the holidays.

3638 Sheffield Place in the Winchester Heights subdivision

The Winding Woods neighborhood has lots of yards with beautiful displays. We know 2 that never fail every year, but please visit to see other homes.

3546 Castlehill Court

2227 Winding Woods Drive
While we don't have current pictures, we know it is lit up. The owners do a great job every year and they also decorate for Halloween. This house is across from Winding Vista pool in Tucker.

2689 Churchwell Lane
Off of Henderson Road, you'll find this big display on Churchwell Lane. They are accepting donations for the Embry Hills United Methodist Church food collection drive if you can donate but riding by is free.
