Who misses “Stranger Things” the series besides me? It's hard to wait a year every year until July 4th to see the new season, but more so now since we don't know when we'll get the next one. I DO know there's a strong possibility they may have started filming again in Atlanta, Georgia, which is where they've filmed a lot of the show. While we wait we can try a new cocktail inspired by Milly Bobby Brown‘s character “Eleven”.
I recently found a fantastic Halloween blog created by Miranda called SpookyLittleHalloween.com . This cocktail and post is featured on her blog so I am merely passing it along. As part of my Halloween page's content, I will be featuring her story the first week of October. Please visit her blog and read her posts about decorating, recipes, party ideas, and more.
Stranger Things Cocktail: The Eleven Whether you're recharging after protecting your friends from bullies and the Demogorgon or simply watching your favorite episodes of “Stranger Things”, this whiskey maple sour dubbed The Eleven is just the cocktail to enjoy! CuisineHalloween Cocktails Servings Prep Time 1 cocktail 5 minutes |
Ingredients
- 2 ounces whiskey
- 1 1/2 ounce egg whites (approximately 1 egg)
- 1 ounce lemon juice
- 3/4 ounce maple syrup
- 2-3 shakes bitters
- 1 Eggo mini waffle
Servings: cocktail
Instructions
- Pour whiskey and egg whites into a cocktail shaker. Seal and shake vigorously for 20-30 seconds or until the mixture is frothy.
- Open cocktail shaker and add lemon juice, maple syrup and bitters. Reseal and shake gently to combine.
- Fill a tumbler glass with ice, and pour the cocktail into the glass.
- Toast Eggo mini waffles in toaster according to package instructions. Allow to cool briefly, then remove one mini waffle and cut a slit halfway into the waffle. Slide onto glass to garnish.
Recipe Notes
I made this using a classic sour recipe. You can swap out the lemon juice and egg white for your favorite sour mix.
Note: consume raw eggs at your own risk. (I like to live dangerously…)
While we wait for a new season of “Stranger Things”, enjoy the fall and all of its spooky magic!

What a creative cocktail! I love this. I’ll have to try it.
Doesn’t it look awesome? And, I really like Eggos too.
