Oscar Wilde, the venerable Irish poet, and playwright had a lot to say. In the early 1890s, he was one of London’s most popular playwrights. Among his poems and writing, you may know his work from The Picture of Dorian Gray and The Importance of Being Earnest. This post contains affiliate links. I thought about one of his quotes when I’ve considered social skills being rusty after we’ve all been through a pandemic. We’ve been used to our bubbles and much less socializing. With vaccines and careful limits, we’re easing back into interaction. Are our skills rusty? Can knowing a list of ice breakers help? The quote that started me down this path is the one from Wilde: “Conversation about the weather is the last…
5 Positive Summer Things in our lives here at Poe in Wonderland. A summer of reunions and travel.
My Storiarts tee shirt review was fun. I love tee shirts with a good saying on them. It’s a hobby to collect them and everyone needs a hobby. And, if the purchase of one goes to a good cause even better! This is a sponsored post on behalf of Storiarts.com. I received the product in exchange for this review but all opinions are my own and were not influenced in any way. The company takes literary quotes and showcases them on products for your home, shirts, baby blankets, scarves, headbands, and more. We reviewed their shirts initially when we first discovered them, however, that post was mainly about the variety in shirts and the good cause their company donates to (read about it at the end of this post). Father’s Day means so much to the men who love and support us every day. A “father” doesn’t have to necessarily only be a biological one as he can be any figure in your life. The one who tells you that you can do it not matter the odds. Your cheerleader even if he’s a quiet one. We like to celebrate with lunch, a gift, and a card in our family. You may have the same tradition or maybe you host a pool party or barbeque for your Father’s Day event. We found 9 awesome dad gifts on Amazon with a range of price points. The first 3 gifts we discovered from an Esquire Magazine Father’s Day gift guide, and the remaining 6 we found. Our posts may sometimes contain affiliate links. West Elm at Ponce City Market is a feast for the eyes. Loving design and home decor as I do, wandering the store is an activity too tempting to pass up. We stayed overnight in midtown Atlanta this past Saturday and visited Ponce City Market. Hadn’t been in 3 years so long over due. It was overwhelming to see all of the color combinations and fabrics and the sheer flow of the store’s staging. I met a very nice staff member named Jessica who talked with me about the great job their merchandisers do. Couldn’t agree more. What follows is a pictorial essay of our visit.
